MackJoy Innovation Lab was founded on a different premise. We identify where existing systems have stopped asking the right questions, then design and build focused technology ventures around the answers.

Brad Sharp founded MackJoy Innovation Lab to apply a questions-first approach to products, markets, and systems that people have learned to accept without examining.
His background spans election data and civic technology, native desktop, audio, and media software, professional identity systems, social discovery platforms, and self-hosted infrastructure. What connects these is not a single domain but a consistent method: find the friction, question the accepted framing, and build something focused enough to actually solve it.
Before formalizing MackJoy, Brad spent years working directly inside local civic campaigns — downloading voter files, building targeting systems, and learning firsthand where the tools available to campaigns fell short. That direct experience became the foundation for Civio Datalytics and, later, the broader lab.
The long-term ambition of MackJoy is to build a portfolio of durable technology ventures — each focused, each production-ready, and each contributing to a shared foundation that makes the next one better.
